Folk and Earthy Sounds with CELLOS

Tacora Cello Quartet__Pauline Strasters.jpg

Tacora Cello Ensemble explores the rich world of folk and earthy sounds, showcasing the cello's versatility and all its sound potential. Their repertoire includes original arrangements and compositions, blending Latin American folk and tango with Celtic traditions and European popular music.

The ensemble brings four cellos together for a fun and heartfelt performance, filled with music, stories, and lots of good energy. Different cultures and communities around the world are represented in their popular music, and they all present a specific language that identifies them.

The ensemble is currently established in Rotterdam, a multicultural city which inspires them to expand their musical and cultural horizons through the sound of their cellos. Tacora’s debut concerts in Rotterdam have already been praised by both the audience and the press for their unique proposal.

The program offers a rich variety of sounds, rhythms, and atmospheres. The music is welltreated, and their brave arrangements and compositions are intense yet refreshing, making the entire concert a cello feast that is absolutely worth experiencing.

The cellists

The cellists from Tacora, raised in various Spanish regions and Venezuela, come together to merge their own musical languages, and reconnect with their roots, while sharing them with each other and their audience.

Jorge, Joshua, Ilein and Ivan pursued their Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music at various prestigious music academies across Europe, including Zaragoza and Murcia (Spain), Porto (Portugal), Rotterdam, and The Hague (The Netherlands).
